Thanks for the info! ;)Lotus Out Loud ॐhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08895703713797739310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1286538786106084426.post-47917645681726176262010-06-27T09:24:49.278-04:002010-06-27T09:24:49.278-04:00Thank you! I think its growing cycle is about over at that point. I know that here, it bolts when it gets really hot (and it has been in the 90's for a month now). I am not sure lettuce can stand really high temps. You can try cutting it back, but then you might miss out on the flower and catching the seeds. Good luck!VeggieAmandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02884481495904655107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1286538786106084426.post-2765328596581883662010-06-26T12:26:35.830-04:002010-06-26T12:26:35.830-04:00Yay fresh lettuce. Keeping them close to the house keeps the animals away. :) We also have a kale growing on our deck, also not pictured here.

Please bring him a tissue on our behalf.VeggieAmandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02884481495904655107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1286538786106084426.post-33214838083115906882010-06-13T05:06:33.993-04:002010-06-13T05:06:33.993-04:00Herbs like basil work well here. You can plant the collards elsewhere, perhaps in an ornamental venue that you'll still eat at some point.

Meanwhile, the produce manager at Food Lion is in tears.
